GNOME offers an easy to understand desktop for your GNU/Linux or UNIX computer.
To start it type:
startgnome
(must use init 3 and not 4. That is, do not choose to boot straight into X. Instead choose the one where you need to enter user:root password:toor)
This module requires:
Slax Core
Slax Xorg
Gnome-Platform 2.21.3:http://www.slax.org/modules.php?action=detail&id=257
GStreamer 0.10.19:http://www.slax.org/modules.php?action=detail&id=111

Totem-Xine:http://www.slax.org/modules.php?action=detail&id=503
VLC:http://www.slax.org/modules.php?action=detail&id=379
But if one plans to use many other applications, like Sound-Juicer,Gnome-Multimedia, packages that will perform better with most of the GStreamer-Plugins installed, then Totem-GStreamer is not such a bad choice
Good to have if space is not critical:
GStreamer Plugins:Good,bad,ugly and ffmpeg

Can Be Useful:
The Samba client in Slax, resides in 003-Desktop. So if you plan to delete that module, but at the same time browse Windows Networks, here is the alternative:http://www.slax.org/modules.php?action=detail&id=73

(The changes lately, are just a restructure. It had become almost too big to be practical to update and maintain)
