Slax core test

The first real test is finally here. Slax textmode (core) for CD/DVD is ready for download for 32bit and 64bit platforms. The tar version (to be booted from USB) is not yet working thus there is no test download, TARs will be available later.

What's inside? After you login as root with password toor, you may test the included software. The most interesting to know is whether your hardware is fully supported. Use 'rexima' to see if your soundcard got detected, use 'blkid' to list all detected partitions, and also try to ping slax.org to discover if network is up (if you have DHCP server).

Drives and tools are provided for the following filesystems:
Ext2/3/4, XFS, JFS, NTFS, ReiserFS, BTRFS, FAT12/16/32, SMB.

Compression and archiving tools are available for:
TAR, CPIO, GZIP, BZIP2, ZOO, LZO, LHA, ARJ, ZIP

Monitoring tools include (among others):
hdparm, smartmontools, htop, strace, netwatch, tcpdump, iftop, iptraf
